Images from the opening at the Vancouver Art Gallery Exhibit - Drawing the World
From June 28th through September 21st 2003 the Vancouver Art Gallery in British Columbia exhibited Drawing the World: Masters to Hipsters. The exhibition featured diverse examples of drawings from around the world dating from the 15th century to the present. Thirty-six drawings from the Inkameep Day School were displayed as The Nk'Mip Chronicles: Drawings from the Osoyoos Museum. Ian Thom of the Vancouver Art Gallery curated Nk'Mip Chronicles with the assistance of Dr. Andrea Walsh. To celebrate the inclusion of the Inkameep Drawings in this premier exhibition, former Day School students and their families traveled from the Okanagan for the opening night. The photographs in this section record the opening of the Inkameep Drawings at the Vancouver Art Gallery June 28th, 2003.

VICTORIA & MONTREAL RESEARCH

Victoria & Montreal Research
In September of 2003, former Day School Students Jane Stelkia and Irene Bryson traveled with anthropologist Andrea Walsh to Victoria and to Montreal to research the story of their school and teacher. In Victoria, the research team examined archival records located at the University of Victoria, the British Columbia Archives and Records, and the Royal BC Museum. In Montreal, Stelkia, Bryson and Walsh visited Concordia University, St. Willibrord's Church, and the Cote des Nieges Cemetery to learn more about the man Anthony Walsh. The visit to the Cote des Nieges Cemetery was to locate the gravesite of Mr. Walsh. This portion of the trip was filmed as part of the creation of a documentary film about the Inkameep Day School.
